About the Journal

The Journal for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (JAIM) is a nonprofit, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the rigorous evaluation and translation of artificial intelligence technologies in healthcare. Submissions open May 15, 2026. Operated under a nonprofit model to advance open scientific collaboration, we serve as a bridge between the engineering and medical communities, ensuring that AI innovations are clinically relevant, ethically sound, and technically robust.

Our Mission

To accelerate the safe and effective implementation of AI in medicine by demanding high standards of evidence and reproducibility.

Scope

We cover diagnostic AI, predictive analytics, natural language processing, robotic surgery, and the ethical/regulatory implications of medical AI.

Publication Model

JAIM is a hybrid journal. We offer authors the flexibility to choose between Standard Publication ($0 submission fee, content available to subscribers) and Open Access (authors pay an article processing charge to make their work immediately freely available). We believe this model ensures sustainability while providing options for broad dissemination.

Governance & Affiliation

JAIM is an official publication of the Foundation for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (FAIM). The Foundation for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Our editorial independence is maintained under this nonprofit framework designed to prioritize scientific integrity and public health impact above commercial interests. If you wish to support our mission, you may make a tax-deductible donation here.

Indexing

As a new journal launching in 2026, we are actively pursuing indexing in PubMed Central, Scopus, and Web of Science. All articles will be assigned a DOI and archived permanently.
